Of Clutter, Snow, and Bumps in the Blogging Road

Ryan and I have been trying to get rid of clutter in the past couple of months. There are several totes full of childhood toys and mementos of our relationship stacked in Anya's closet along with an extra microwave we bought for our microwave-less apartment in Knoxville and enough bags to supply an entire Good Will store. It's times like these that I wish I had a garage floor to fill with stacks of junk until a better place could be found for it. The rest of the time, I kind of like how living in an apartment keeps me from being able to collect as much junk due to space restrictions. So we need to find a Good Will before my head explodes the next time I open Anya's closet and see the bags glaring at me, and we need to go through our filing cabinet and desk areas to de-clutterize. And probably our own closet again. Because that tends to be the clutter magnet in our apartment unfortunately.

In other news it's supposed to snow like crazy tonight and tomorrow. Yeah right. I've heard that about a million times this winter, and we have gotten NOTHING. Not. One. Flake. Just some drizzly, albeit really cold, rain. If that. So I'll believe this whole snow thing when I see it. I wouldn't mind a little snow. Snow is the main reason I like winter as a whole. It's just so...pretty. And I haven't seen a good snow in a while. So it wouldn't hurt my feelings if we got a little of that crazy snow tonight. As long as our power stays on so we can stay toasty in our little corner of the world.

At the moment I'm taking advantage of Ryan being on baby duty to get ahead on some school work so that I concentrate on the next problem staring me in the face: the blog service I use will no longer allow FTP as of next month. Which sucks. Because that's exactly how I use it to make it flow with the rest of the site. So now I get to play the fun game of figuring out how to make it work differently and/or switching services and figuring out how to make that one work. Heh. I may have to give WordPress another try. I've been challenged every other time I've tried it, but this is about the third time in the past few years I've had to change servers because they were going down/stopping a service or lost blog entries entirely due to server failures. WordPress would pretty much eliminate fear of any of those things happening again. I just know I'm going to need plenty of Cola handy. Because it's probably going to hurt my brain.
