The Cold of Doom says Hello
Things have been a little crazy around here. Anya and I both came down with the same horrible cold on Monday just in time for Ryan to leave Tuesday morning for a three day field exercise. So she and I have both been sniffly and coughing. She gets mad when she gets too stuffy because she feels like she can't breathe so even the things that usually kept her mildly entertained weren't really doing the trick. She slept better at night and napped a tad bit more because she didn't feel well, but I couldn't really take advantage of it because I couldn't sleep due to feeling like I couldn't breathe. Ugh. Ended up knocking myself out with Nyquil the past couple of nights.
I haven't really accomplished more than the bare minimum required with school work because I'm either loopy from Dayquil or having the sinus headache of doom from my nose being all stuffy and sniffly. So I have several things in that department that I need to try to accomplish today, but I don't know how much Anya will allow for that. She's sitting in my lap right now while I listen to some music and type this. But I doubt she'd sit still long enough for me to do anything substantial as far as homework is concerned. Very rarely does she just sit still in our laps without being fussy until we do something more entertaining. She's a little drama queen like that.
Ryan wasn't supposed to be home until tonight, but he surprised me by showing up at the front door last night. They'd let them out early, but he still had to go to work as usual today. So it's just me, the Cuteness, and the stack of daunting homework assignments. Today might be a good day to give long afternoon naps another try. After replacing her pacifier a million times at nap time last week I started just letting her nap when and where she felt like it this week. So I have been having to keep her entertained a lot more and deal with a lot of crankiness by evening. We'll see if she'll take to the afternoon nap a little better now that she's had some time to readjust. Right now I think she really wants to eat my keyboard. She keeps leaning toward it with her mouth open in anticipation. Crazy baby. Hard to believe she's already 4 months old. Feels like just yesterday I was breathing through those contractions.
