Oh Christmas Tree

We totally put our Christmas tree up tonight. We won't be home next weekend after Thanksgiving as we'll be visiting family back in Tennessee so in the interest of enjoying the tree for an extra weekend rather than not having it for an extra weekend or two, we went ahead and did it this evening. Christmas is definitely my favorite time of year. All of the lights and decorations mixed with smells of cinnamon and crisp, cool air. Ah. Heaven.

We've almost got all of our photographs and other decorations put up around the apartment, but we're still working on it. At this rate there probably won't be photos of the apartment up until after we get home from Thanksgiving in Tennessee. We have to pick up a trunk Ryan mailed home from Afghanistan there to organize his gear and camouflage uniforms into in the closet here. Right now they're just a pile of olive drab and desert that exploded in between our closet and bedroom floor. But that's really the last big thing we've got to get organized other than cleaning out a few totes of childhood belongings in order to consolidate a few of my maternity clothes and childhood toys that are being reserved for Anya into. Fun stuff.
