It's like Christmas...in August!

Ryan had internet access today. Twice. Complete with web cam and microphone. It was amazing. How long this newfound communication opportunity will last, I'm not sure as he doesn't tell me much. But hopefully it will stay like this for a while, maybe even the rest of the deployment. But I know better than to get my hopes up because at any moment it could be three weeks between phone calls again. Such is life when you are married to a deployed Marine.

So I think I may have completely wasted my money on Sims 3. I just don't like the direction it went in, and the software development for the upcoming expansion pack isn't looking promising. I want to like it, but it's just hard for me because I enjoyed controlling every aspect of the neighborhood. Now things happen without me when I play one household, and even if I turn off the option for major events, time still passes making the characters age. It annoys me. I'm seriously considering just reinstalling Sims 2 and playing it for the rest of my life. Unless Maxis gets their crap together and makes this newest version more player friendly for those of us who do play the entire neighborhood and not just one family. I get bored playing only one household for hours and hours. Ugh. Fix it, Maxis! Please, fix it!
