Taking it One Day at a Time

I finally had a conversation with Ryan online for the first time in over a week last night around midnight. It's good to know he's alright, even if communication is going to suck for a while. Possibly the majority of the rest of this deployment. I can really only count on a letter once in a while. The random phone call or internet conversation is going to be a rare treat for us from now on. It does make the time go by a bit faster, though. Instead of counting the minutes until his next phone call I'm forced to count days or even weeks so I'm able to do things without looking at the clock every five minutes waiting for his evening call and then his middle of the night call, etc.

My first class is easy so far. It's an introduction to computers type of course so I feel like I'm in kindergarten. I'm seriously learning how to send an e-mail and right click a mouse. Yeah. But at least it will be an easy grade, and I will have the credits to move on with. My web design class next session should prove a little bit more challenging. I might actually learn something. Though I'm dreading taking a speech class in the final session. Public speaking shall be my doom.
