20 Weeks
Yesterday marked the end of my 5th month of pregnancy and the beginning of my 6th. It was at this point that Baby has decided to make its movements known...by using my kidney or something in that general area as a footrest. It hurts! It's a pressure kind of pain in my lower right back that happens randomly off and on usually accompanied by a swooshy feeling in my lower tummy as if Baby is doing tumbling exercises.
Some people have suggested maybe the pain is a UTI, but after all my experience with being prone to them every 2.5 seconds I know better than that. And then there's the fact that preterm labor is in my family history, but considering the pain hasn't gotten any more intense or frequent nor has my water broken or anything crazy, I don't think that's a problem either. I think Baby just thinks it's funny to punch me in the kidney or something.
And on top of that I have some kind of allergy/sinus/head cold thing going on. My nose is a battleground of nastiness, and my throat is itching from all the drainage. So I'm coughing everywhere because when your throat itches there is no other way to scratch it! And even the coughing doesn't really help, but it's kind of involuntary once you get to a certain point. And annoying. And makes my throat actually sore because of the irritation caused by the coughing. Ugh.
At least today is the last day of class for the week. This is going to be a really quick class since this pre-session term is only three weeks long. My class only meets four days out of the week, and one of those days next week coincides with the Memorial Day weekend holiday. So I only had 11 total class days to begin with which means after today I will only be in this class for 7 more days before it's over and my web design class starts. It's making the time go by decently fast, for sure. Which was half of the goal. The other half was to be a productive, not-quite-so-lazy slob and get my arse back in school. Go me for accomplishing something!

I've been told by a few new moms that their child liked to rest their feet on the mother's ribs. Ouch!
