Of Moving and Traveling

I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to rental hunt in Jacksonville now or not. Everyone we've talked to about looking at their property during the holidays wants some kind of rent in January, and it would be really hard for us to do that with paying rent here, too. As much as I hate to admit it, we may be better off waiting until I'm back in Greeneville for a week or two while Ryan is finishing up here in February to really look for anything. I'm hoping to get my driver's license (About time, I know.) over the holidays or soon after being back at home in February so waiting until then to house hunt wouldn't be so bad logistically. I just hate waiting until the last minute in case there isn't anything available we like within our price range then that we could've gotten now. But we can't really afford to get something now anyway, I suppose. Better off concentrating on shutting off everything I have going on here next month and shipping stuff back home. And getting home. That way we aren't stressed about money over our vacation and won't have to pay any double rent.

Guess I'll talk to Ryan about it tonight. He'll be all for it; he was dreading being tight on money over vacation because of having to put a deposit down somewhere and maybe double rent in January. I suppose this is for the best. Putting down large amounts of money for deposits will be easier if we're able to keep saving over the next month and a half (Plus getting back our deposits for things here.) and not blow our entire vacation savings on a deposit. We saved more than we'll need on purpose so we'd have something left when we got back here. Save now, pay later is our best option, I think. We may still take a look at a few things while we're home, though, to get a feel for what we want.

I cannot wait to head back to Greeneville on Friday. I miss having stuff to do and people to talk to, especially my family. And I miss my dog. I'm pretty sure I'll kill over from excitement when I see his cute little doggie face looking up at me all happy that I'm finally home. I'm really looking forward to being able to take him with me when we move to Jacksonville. Of course, I'll have to take a certain Christmas rug with me according to a picture my mother sent to my phone. (I'd post it, but I can't figure out how to e-mail saved photos from my phone that I didn't take with it.) He likes to lay on it and kick it around when he's hyper or aggravated. It's really entertaining to watch. It's a holiday tradition in our house. Nevermind that we have to fix the rug every five minutes. It's worth the laughs to see Kieran run from one end of the house to the other doing run by attacks it.
