Where did today go?

Today I helped my mom clean up my dad's garage a bit. I had a lot of my childhood stuff stored there in boxes, and I managed to get rid of most of it. I only have one box of junk now. Haha. Except for the Barbies. I put them aside to go through and rematch all the accessories and stuffs because I want to keep the Disney ones and give the rest to younger relatives who will play with them. By the time I have a daughter, I'll just want to buy her the newest thing. Haha. No sense in dragging my extensive Barbie collection with me for the next bajillion years for nostalgia.

I had so much Barbie stuff it was unbelievable...and little odds and ends down to the slightest detail. I could have made my own Barbie world, complete with silverware, plastic food, bars of soap, cassettes for the stereo in one of the houses, a McDonald's with a drive thru, a stable with several horses, a car or two, bicycles, pets, street lamps, etc. I had it all. Insane how much my parents must have spent on Barbie. ^_^ And I had backpacks full of clothes and shoes for the dolls. I was such a spoiled little girl. Haha. But I turned out alright.

This evening my mom and I went out for dinner and ended up running into Ryan's mom so we all ate together and talked a while. Mom and I then went with my brother and his girlfriend to see X-Files: I Want to Believe which was decent. I was excited about it because I was pretty into the show the last few seasons. I need to go back and watch it all someday.

My brother had rented Employee of the Month so we watched that when we returned home. Had Dane Cook not been in that movie, I would not have watched the entire thing. But he just has this charisma about him that is amazing. His stand-up skits are hilarious, but outside of that just something about his personality and the way he carries himself makes it difficult not to notice him and want to see what he's going to do/say next. There's another movie he's in coming out this year so I'm looking forward to that.

My sister was very much into Barbies as well, so I know what you mean.
