Laundry Woes

Yesterday was a completely uneventful day aside from the two mile round trip walk to the post office downtown...that was closed. Lovely detour through the park on the way home, though. ^_^;; Today my mother, grandmother, and family friend June came to visit me. We went to the mall and stuffs before Ryan had to go to work then went to see Surf's Up which was cute but not worth $6.50 a person.

Between the stuff my mother brought from home and bought while here Ryan and I ended up with some keychain pepper spray for our late work nights, a standing lamp for the living room, a welcome rug for the living room, a cookie jar for the kitchen, a rug for the bathroom, and a couple of weeks worth of groceries. Haha. She freaked out when she opened my fridge and saw a half gallon of milk, some orange juice, bottled water, jelly, apple sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, and a tub of margarine. XD So the apartment is slightly more cozy now.

In other news, needing quarters to do laundry sucks. Everyone donated to the cause today so I'm finally getting to do some laundry for the first time in a while. Of course, this means I'm going back and forth from the apartment to the group laundry room at 9 o'clock at night. >_>;; I'm so glad for that pepper spray; even if it is jammed in my pocket since I have to carry laundry baskets and stuffs, it still makes me feel better.

I was taken to Calhoun's for dinner and decided to save half of my meal to take to Ryan for his break since we have no money for him to eat out, and I forgot to pack something for him. My mom voluntered to take me out there rather than have me figure out how to ride the bus there. Once we got there we stood in the lobby for twenty minutes waving him over and being ignored so he wouldn't get in trouble. When he finally does come over he pretty much just takes the food, says something about his job, and walks away. Ugh. I was slightly peeved.

First of all I was surprising him with food - he would of otherwise starved expect for handfuls of popcorn until 1AM when he gets home. Second I was surprising him by being there at all. No smile. No mushy I love you. Nothing. Ouch much? I realize he's at work, but jeez. I've visited him before, and he's usually ecstatic about it. Needless to say I sent him a lovely text once home again to tell him that my feelings had been hurt. He will later find out that if such sweet gestures are just going to be snubbed, I won't bother working my arse off to find ways to do them. Next time I'll just eat all of it, and he can starve. : P Arse.
