Moving Out
So I've been doing a lot of thinking about the moving out issue. I actually talked to my mother about it. I told her I thought it would be a good idea to experience living with Meg and Aaron before I do it in another country. That I should learn how to handle rent and bills and everything else that goes with living away from your parents before I'm living on the other side of the world. At least living in Johnson City I can ask my parents questions about how to do things. Once I'm in Tokyo, it's a bit harder to do that.
I can only get my mother's employee scholarship as a dependant. So she suggested that I stay at home and accomplish all of the things I need to financially before moving out in the next two years. Do my summer internship at Disney. Then move out my Senior year of college. By then we will already have filed our financial information under my parents. So I still get the scholarship. So I can live in an apartment with Meg and Aaron my last year of college and for another year after that working full time and saving. Meg is a year behind Aaron and I in school, so Aaron and I will stay an extra year in JC working and saving while Meg finishes college. Then we'll all go to Japan.
But first things first. I need to worry about getting to Japan this summer. Then I have to pay my dad back the $500 for my computer. And then I need to save and pay for a $3,000-$5,000 car in cash. Then worry about saving for apartment living expenses and start up costs. One thing at a time. But that's my basic plan. I'll have to iron out all of the details as I go.

Sounds like a good plan to me!
